Professional Voice Overs by Brad Dassey

Growing up, I know I’ve always wanted to be a DJ of some sort. I followed in my father, Pete’s footsteps when I was 15 years old. We threw some old records on and talked over the songs and had so much fun! He introduced records to me at a fairly young age and since then, I’ve admired music of all types.

During my teenage years, I’ve became obsessed with a man by the name of Otis Day, who currently jocks for 101.1 WIXX FM in Green Bay, WI. He ran the All Night Party/Top 9@9 show and I fell in love with his humor. Otis and I became friends over the phone and he inspired me to become who I am today, through radio. He taught me things and he encouraged me to send my demo tape into WIXX, even though I felt I wasn’t that good at the time.

It wasn’t till my early High School years till I knew that I exactly wanted to be a radio DJ. I discovered my, “Big Bad Radio Voice” while in 9th grade. I listened to WIXX, got a kick out of Otis and admired him as a jock. I learned a lot of valuable information from him and thank him very much for his guidance.

After High School, I landed my first radio job. I was working for a radio station in Manitowoc, WI; AM 980 WCUB/Oldies 92.1 FM. I was a weekly night jock there for about two years, before I finally found myself getting in the door at 101.1 WIXX FM. I jocked at WIXX and filled in where I could, for starters, then I worked my way up to a regular weekly shift.

After enjoying my time at WIXX, I explored other opportunities and moved onto bigger and better things. I worked for B104.7 FM out of Oshkosh, WI. I did live remotes, radio ads, helped with radio imaging and the sound of the station. I went from being a weekend jock, to a weeknight jock. It was a fun experience for me, but I just found myself not having enough time for it any longer, trying to manage my life and raising a child.

After settling down and figuring things out, I now own my own production studio in Kaukauna, WI. Kaukauna is near Appleton, WI. I produce radio ads, narration, on hold messaging, promos, voice overs for just about any project that needs a professional voice for. I love what I do and I thank God for my gift of voice to help others look their best.
